We are looking for a talented individual to join our leadership team as a Head of Category - Frames and Ophthalmic Lenses. This is an exciting opportunity to join us to evolve and grow the category in line with market and consumer trends. Working closely with our colleagues at Grand Vision, you will spend time developing relationships with key stakeholders both locally and globally to ensure that we are providing our customers with the best possible range of products available in order to maximise gross profit and market share

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing key category management processes and systems, looking at ways to continuously improve our ways of working

• Building relationships with stakeholders, influencing, and providing strategic advice to drive the category

• Working closely with our suppliers within our current product matrix and identifying new supplier opportunities

• Creating and implementing a future strategy plan for the category, looking at ways to develop in line with consumer trends and ensuring the category is aligned with the overall brand strategy

• Analysing and providing insight on the market, suppliers, and changes in consumer behaviour to develop our product ranges within our store estate and e-commerce platform

• Coaching and developing your team to provide the best service to our customers and colleagues

• Leading on key strategic business projects, ensuring communication plans are effectively executed with the operations team

• Working closely with colleagues across the business to manage the supply base, ranges, promotional framework, merchandising and stock management ensuring a true collaborative approach is taken


What will we provide you?

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

• Previous experience within a senior category management or buying level role is essential

• To ideally have worked within categories with high customer affinity

• To have previously implemented systems and procedures

• Proven experience in identifying new categories and delivering market share gains in those areas

• The ability to analyse financial and competitor data to inform commercial decision making

• To be commercial, strategic and results driven

• The ability to build relationships at all levels and manage stakeholders

• To have a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, retail environment

• Proven leadership skills
