We know you might have some questions that we haven’t answered on this site.
If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, please send us an email and we’ll get straight back to you. Thank you for your interest in a career at Vision Express.
What qualifications do I need to have to be able to apply?
You don’t need any qualifications to apply for our scheme. If you don’t already have GCSC C or above in Maths and English we’ll provide you with these Fundamental Skills as part of your programme.
I have another part time job, can I still apply?
Yes, but you’ll need to make sure that you’re able to work the days and hours needed for this programme.
How much will I get paid?
We will pay you £4.50 per hour instead of the National Minimum Wage for Apprentices (which is currently £2.73 per hour).
What days / hours will I be expected to work?
You’ll be expected to work 30 hours over 5 days. These days are likely to include weekends and Bank Holidays so you’ll need to be flexible. Flexibility is a key part of retailing.
Do I have to wear a uniform?
Yes. We provide all our store employees with an exclusively designed corporate uniform. This ensures we provide a professional look and feel for our customers regardless of which store they visit.
I am struggling with my application, where can I get help?
You can call our Recruitment Hotline on 0115 988 2499 where you’ll be asked to leave a message. A member of the Recruitment Team will then contact you usually within 48 hours or email us at email@example.com.
Do I get holidays?
Yes, you’ll have 31 days holiday to take during the year (this also includes Bank Holidays).
Do I have to complete Functional Skills as part of my Apprenticeship?
If you haven’t been able to achieve a GCSE (or equivalent) at grade C or above in Maths or English then you’ll be required to complete these necessary Functional Skills as part of your Apprenticeship. To ensure you get the best support available we use a third party provider to support our Apprentices through the Functional Skills English and Maths.
