COMPETITIVE BONUS SCHEME

Hard work is always rewarded at Vision Express. We offer various incentives and bonus schemes that are designed to recognise personal and business performance. Eligibility will be dependent on the role that you do and your broader renumeration package.

LIFE ASSURANCE COVER

You’ll be given a Life Assurance Cover of up to four times the size of your basic salary, depending on the level your role sits in and in accordance with the rules of our policy.

PRIVATE MEDICAL COVER

We like to go the extra mile when it comes to your health. At Vision Express, you’ll have access to a comprehensive medical cover, based on the level your role sits in.

PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY INSURANCE

Our professional colleagues are included in our comprehensive Professional Indemnity Insurance with FODO (Federation of Ophthalmic and Dispensing Opticians) subject to the rules of the scheme.

FREE ANNUAL EYEWEAR

If you fancy having a new pair of glasses every now and then, we have some good news. You’ll be eligible for free eyewear up to the value of £550 (inclusive of VAT) on the very day you join us. You can choose to spend it on lenses, eyeglasses or sunglasses, as you see fit. Did we mention that this is a rolling annual benefit? You’re also entitled to free eye examinations, so it can’t get better than this.

FAMILY & FRIENDS DISCOUNT VOUCHERS

We also care about the ones you care for. That’s why every year we’ll issue you with a number of discount vouchers for your family and friends, including 25%, 50% and 75% off to use in store.

PROFESSIONAL FEES

We like to invest in our people, and subject to you completing mandatory Professional Services e-learning, we reimburse all GOC fees. We also cover ABDO fees for student registrants and College of Optometry fees for Optometrists who agree to supervise our Pre-registration Optometrists.

HEALTH AND WELLBEING

You’ll have a number of optional benefits that focus on your health and wellbeing. These include access to private medical insurance, dental insurance, health screening and health cash plan.

HOLIDAYS

We value your time outside work, which is why we give an allowance of 33 holidays, including eight bank holidays, dependent on the number of days worked per week. Loyalty pays off as well, because you can increase your holiday entitlement based on the number of years with us, for a maximum of 38 days after 10 years of service.

SICK PAY

We understand that life can take unexpected turns. Our comprehensive sick pay policy takes that into account, and we offer over two weeks of 100% of your basic salary for the first year you’re with us, increasing to four weeks in the second year of service. After two years, you’ll be able to get six weeks of sick pay at 100% of your basic salary and six weeks at 50% of your basic salary.

SECURITY AND PROTECTION

You’ll also be able to top up the company funded life assurance amount to increase your tax-free lump sum. You can opt in for a critical illness policy as well.

LIFESTYLE

A range of lifestyle benefits will be available to you. These include the option of buying and selling holidays, travel insurance for you and your family, a cycle to work scheme, a dining card, Experience Days and gym memberships.

Employee Assistance Programme

Your wellbeing is our priority. All colleagues are given access to an Employee Assistance Programme which will help you deal with both personal and professional problems. We also partner with Salary Finance to support your financial wellbeing.

CONTRIBUTORY PENSION SCHEME

Based on your eligibility, you’ll automatically be enrolled into the Auto Enrolment workplace pension scheme in the third month of your employment. We will make a contribution to it as well. You can choose to opt out of it after you’ve been enrolled.

The OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation

We firmly believe that good vision has the power to unleash our full potential. However, did you know that more than 314 million adults and children across the world suffer from poor vision because they don't have access to eye tests or glasses? The OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation, a registered charity, aims to combat this by helping to eliminate uncorrected poor vision in a generation.

APPROACH TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT:

EYES ON INCLUSION

The Company's employees are leading players and contributors to EssilorLuxottica's sustainable development and value-creation efforts. EssilorLuxottica seeks to develop a collective culture that fosters learning, nurtures diversity and prioritises safety along with a working environment that offers everybody equal opportunities based on merit, fairness and without discrimination.

EYES ON WORLD SIGHT

The launch of the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation marked a new chapter in EssilorLuxottica’s journey to accelerate its Mission and bring vision care to those in need. The Company’s responsibility toward vision and society also includes corporate citizenship initiatives that cover different areas, including a partnership with the United Nations Special Envoy for Road Safety to promote better vision for better road safety.

EYES ON CARBON

EssilorLuxottica is working toward achieving carbon neutrality for its global direct activities by 2025. Last year, it reached this goal in Europe, following its success in Italy and France at the end of 2021.
This achievement is owed to its strategy of improving energy efficiency across facilities, increasing self-production, and use of renewable energy through a corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the sourcing of wind electricity in Italy. This ultimately supported carbon reduction projects beyond its value chain, such as the protection and restoration of natural ecosystems.

EYES ON THE PLANET

In 2021, EssilorLuxottica launched its ambitious, forward-looking company-wide Corporate Sustainability program, titled Eyes on the Planet. It aimed at embracing sustainability across its entire ecosystem, including employees, suppliers, partners and customers. This program includes concrete actions that support five strategic pillars – Carbon, Circularity, World Sight, Inclusion and Ethics.

EYES ON CIRCULARITY

EssilorLuxottica’s climate commitment is deeply intertwined with its circularity goal throughout the value chain, leveraging its sustainable innovation expertise across its materials, processes, products and services. In 2024, the Group continued to work on the technical levers that support the circularity of sources, such as a continuous shift from fossil-based materials to bio-based materials, along with its ability to recycle industrial waste internally or through external partners, resulting in further enrichment of its sustainable product offering.

EYES ON ETHICS

The Group's vertically integrated business model is key to delivering and ensuring a fair and ethical business approach wherever it operates. Reinforcing its ethics efforts, EssilorLuxottica updated its Code of Ethics and developed a Code of Conduct for business partners to establish harmonised practices, clarify expectations and ethical principles, along with protecting human and labour rights across the entire value chain. Furthermore, EssilorLuxottica launched its internal reporting system Speak Up where both employees and external stakeholders can report potential concerns and violations.
