As a Pre-Registration Optometry student

It’ll be your responsibility to provide the best possible eyecare services to patients. You’ll be supported by a dedicated Pre-Reg Supervisor and a Pre-Reg Team at every step of the way, whether it is when you’re performing eye exams, diagnosing patients, or prescribing eyecare solutions. You’ll have access to modern technology and techniques that provide you with an experience of innovative optical equipment and industry best practices. Rest assured; your training will prepare you for every aspect of the customer journey.

You’ll work with us for at least one year whilst completing assessments run by the College of Optometrists.  On successful completion of your final OSCE exams you will be eligible for registration as an Optometrist with the GOC.

We'll cover your College Registration Fee and first OSCE Exam. We'll ensure the essentials are taken care of so you can focus on your development. We'll provide you with Professional Development Tutor (PDT) Support where you’ll be paired with an experienced tutor who'll provide regular feedback and help you prepare you for observational assessments. We'll provide you with access to structured learning resources that align with your clinical training and exam preparation.

You'll benefit from regular virtual tutorials and face to face sessions designed to sharpen your clinical knowledge and build your confidence ahead of assessments and the opportunity to broaden your experience with placement opportunities at SpaMedica, giving you valuable exposure to a clinical hospital setting.
