Job Description

If this sounds like you, then we have just the role! We’re looking for a game-changing Internal Communications Manager to join our Store Support Centre team in Ruddington (Nottingham). Here, you’ll work with our leaders and managers to optimise our internal communications, finding new ways to reach and engage our colleagues, so we all have a clear and compelling connection to our business strategy.

 

What can you expect from the role?

As Internal Communications Manager, you’ll have plenty of scope to apply your expertise in a fast-paced, high energy retail environment.  All your core skills will be in play – influencing and advising, creating and curating content and conversation (so really strong writing and editing skills), channel and community management, researching and gaining insight, measuring and demonstrating value.  You’ll help shape our existing digital channels, develop our messaging and narrative, support cultural change and champion new tools and approaches across the business.

 

You’ll collaborate with leaders and teams, building and nurturing stakeholder relationships, so you can really get to know our colleagues.  You’ll be seeking out the best ways and opportunities to engage and communicate, offering sound advice and guidance.

About you

You’ll show planning and business acumen and you’ll be passionate about really getting to know our business, our people and our culture.  You will need to be a strategic thinker and be able use your planning and organisational skills to design and deliver internal communication and engagement campaigns. 

You’ll have experience of owning communications projects, from stakeholder engagement and developing an activities plan, through to content curation and writing – or reviewing content for tone of voice and messaging - and then delivery through multiple channels.

 

Event management experience will come in really handy too, especially as the team leads on our annual retail conference, which has become a truly immersive experience for all 6,000 colleagues! You’ll also partner with external vendors for creative and event management support, so you’ll know how to prepare a good brief, be focused on delivering the right outcomes for our colleagues and be clear on the measures of success.

 

Due to the nature of the role, we’re looking for someone who has experience of managing intranets, community/social platforms and email distribution tools.

 

You’ll understand the importance of listening and will be keen to ensure the colleague voice is heard through all our communications.  So, it will also be important that you’re social media savvy, have design flair and video editing capability is a definite plus. It goes without saying that your writing skills will be top-notch!
